  • Transparency Mapping

    Hello.

So I'm having some difficulty with transparency mapping. When I map my gradient to get glass that goes from one color to the other or opaque to transparent I get a result that is split down the middle of the model. I could get it to work fine with a simple shape I created in Rhino but once I try to map it on an imported step from pro e or solidworks it will only map one half of the object. I can post an example later but any advice would be great.

    Thanks,

    Re: Transparency Mapping

first switch to "rendered view" at perspective window. then to see if your mapping is right create a new material with a diffuse texture assigned (your gradient map in this case). assign that material to ypur imported object and now you may see the gradient in rendered viewport. now if it is not mapped good you may sellect the model and Object Porperties(F3)> Texture Mapping>show advaced UI>Add. then try projection methods for the best result.

note: dont change the UVW Repeat sometimes it doesnt render as it seems at rendered view.

you may find these in Vray for Rhino Manual
