Well, I'm not really convinced that v5 will be out by 2009, but thats just me. V4 was a significant beta process that took over 18 months. Although I don't think v5 will be as significant as v4 was, I still think we're looking at between 10-14 months, and of course we haven't seen the first betas yet. This is all my personal take on it, although we'll see if there's anything that has to be offered up by the mcneel team in the coming days.
Back to your question at hand, vray for the mac. Last I've heard there isn't an final say on what will happen with the Mac SDK. AFAIK there isn't any direct support for any of the languages of the current sdk (c++, c#, VB.Net) on the mac. There may be some wiggle room on C# and vb.net as they the dot net framework does have a mac implementation (although I could be incorrect on that one..we use C++ anyway, so that doesn't matter). Anyway, Rhino needs to finalize what they want to for the Mac SDK, then make it available to developers in order for us to move forward. There will still be issues for us to work on, but until we get that sdk there's not too much we can do. Again, I'll see what info I can get from the McNeel team in the coming days.
thanks I moslty agree with you but nevertheless Rhino for mac is very well advance so there sould be a rhino for mac in the near future v4 or V5...
I dont think any ender for rhino is ready for mac...
best
Any update on this front?
I've been using Rhino for OSX for a number of months now. Would be great to even have a beta of Vray for Rhino OSX to play with!
