How can I project my bitmap to get the shoe lace aspect on my string?

    Thanks a lot.

    Re: Mapping a String

The best thing to do would be to use surface projection and mess with the U and/or V repeat to get it how you want it. Do yourself a favor and use the U&V repeats in the Rhino mapping options as opposed to V-Ray options...you can see it in the viewport as opposed to only seeing it in the render

There's no command...when mapping gets applied its automatically set to Surface. If you're familiar with Rhino's Texture Mapping interface, then you'll be fine. Just set the projection to surface.
