  • 72dpi to 300dpi ahahah

    so I have this client saying that his renders all come out at 72dpi..he wants 300dpi... thats a classic.. he doesn't need 300dpi he just goes with what he's been supposedly told..
    anyway I am not going to educate him as he is quite stubborn

    okay stop me if I am wrong:
    he want a final out of 20cm x 30cm .. yeah metrics
    so here is the procedure.. I think
    1 inch =25.4 mm so 2.54 cm

    20 cm = 7.87 inch
    30cm= 11.81 inch

    multiply inch by dpi
    7.87x300= 2361
    11.81x300= 3543

    so his render should be
    2361x3543

    Vray Options set to very hight

    Done... right?

    is there something else I am missing?

    Thankx

    Looks ok.

    Last I found this german page with a table of the main resolutions:

    http://www.din-formate.de/reihe-a-di...pixel-dpi.html
    www.simulacrum.de - visualization for designer and architects

        Yup. DPI is just an indication to what the printed should be.

        Every time someone ask me to "send an image in 300DPI" I sigh. Doesn't help me much knowing the DPI if I don't know the target size...
        Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
