materials not importing

Hi all,

Hope this question has not been asked. Did some searches but couldn't find an answer. I just downloaded the vismat material collection from vray.com and while some of the materials can be imported into the material editor, the large majority give me an "Invalid ASGvis material file" error message. Anyone have any ideas what I could do to rectify this?

What V-Ray version do you have?

I believe its 1.49.82

vray.com ???? is site for Vray for Max, Maya......these materials are incompatible with Vray for rhino. First you should convert them.

They have a package for vismat materials as well.

That's the V-Ray Core version. Not the version number for the plugin. (You find that in the About section in the Option window.) However, if I remember right, that V-Ray core version number relates to the original version of V-Ray for Rhino/SketchUp. I'm guessing that you're trying to load materials made with a newer version that what you are using.

Hey thanks for the replies. I figured that was the case. Working on a new computer at work, which I'm now imagining has not been updated.
