  • large rhino file crash

I am having trouble rendering a large rhino file, around 500meg.

I have done extensive reading on the asgviz website and cannot find the solution to my problem.

I read something about a toolbar that micha put out to convert to mesh? is this true? what is the link? How does it work....?

Any other advice? Any help is greatly appreciated. My architecture thesis is due next week and I cannot render my model, in a real pickle.

My system is a dual quad xenon 4gb memory xp32 pro. I have done the 3gb memory switch.

    I need help!

    Kindest regards,

    Re: large rhino file crash

    Hi Dale,

You have a lot of power with your system, so I'm guessing that this is a RAM issue. Make sure that you don't have any bad objects in your scene. If you do, fix them. If you don't after a check, then I'd convert your NURBS to meshes (saves RAM) and in each view hide any objects that are not in view of the camera (and are not needed for reflections of any in camera view objects). If that doesn't work then I know you can render to VRimage, but I've never personally done this. Also, Micha posted some tips a while back on how to cut down on RAM usage. His post is located here: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...0&topic=5887.0

    Hope this helps,
    Hoop

      Re: large rhino file crash

      I have converted to meshes.
Am i to mesh each type of objet seprately depending on its complexity ad location in the scene?

I hav read and attempted the VRimage but there is a setting in the irradiance map that is not in my vray version 1.5?

When I do this the frame buffer still pops up and shows the prepasses and then it crashes when it is done with the prepasses.
Should the frame buffer still pop up? how do I stop this? And when does the file save? I dn't think I am doing this right.

thanks in advance for your replies
