  • Meshing Models

    I recall reading some where that it is good practice for us to mesh our models before rendering.

    Is that a good practice? Currently, I'm setting my global mesh settings and rendering from that. I just can't remember if we are to actually "mesh" the model. Or does it make a difference?

    It isn't a requirement, but if you're running into memory issues it can help. If you are going to "mesh" the model, my recommendation is to set a relatively coarse mesh within your global settings, then use the custom mesh settings (object properties) for objects that don't make the mark. After that, just use the ExtractRenderMesh command and that will get you the mesh that your looking at without having to remesh or anything.
