    Re: dark ambient

well, in one sense you're in luck because black leads black. In other words if you set the diffuse value of a material to pure black (0,0,0) this effectively kills all the light that it interacts with, and therefore will give you a black result. This gives you the freedom to pretty much light you're scene as you need. One thing of note, you're global reflections/background will need to be black, but in order to get good reflections on the martini glass, you will need to have an environment setup within that material.

        Re: dark ambient

I'm looking to do almost exactly the same thing, except the back round needs to be totally white and not black. I'm doing a visual of a knife for some packaging.

Can anyone suggest any good scene/light set ups? To make things even more difficult the knife is in a white plastic...and its proving rather difficult. I'm afraid i cant post a photo of the knife/current scene as it is confidential work, but any advice would be greatly apreciated.

        Thanks in advance,

        Will
