  • Displacement / Bump Map Tiling Seam

    Hi guys,

    Does any of you have issues using displacement/bump maps when the tiling is supposed to be smooth and seamless, but somehow the edges/joints of the tiles are displaced/bumped for unknown reason? I can't seem to figure out the root to the problem.

    I've attached a link to an image of the results and maps that I use. I tried searching the archive for related issues, but couldn't find them. Any feedback is appreciated.

    I have always had this issue as well. If anyone has successfully displaced the surface without the seems breaking I would like to hear from them. My guess is the quality of the map used to displace. Checking "keep continuity" doesn't seem to have any effect on the outcome.

          I dont whats going on I still cant see it, all I see is an image that says "hosted by Tripod".

            yeah it worked for a moment but now I also see that logo.....anyway copy and paste the link instead of clicking the link. Then it works

              Hi
              I believe that the problem is the texture that you are using for displacement . Be sure that the color of the displacement texture are even from left to right, if you have some color variation on the edge you will get the seam. I made a test, but I created the displacement texture in photo shop.
              I attached the texture that I used for displacement.
