Hi I just wanted to thank this forum so much for its help on the last problem I had once again, this is a truly great resource for vray beginners like myself ;D .
The problem I'm having now is texture mapping, I have these "blobbish" pieces of my building that serve different functions such as light wells, galleries, and such, and on one specific one it serves as a stairwell. It is made up of two parts (the body and the wrap around that kind of branches off of it and comes back around into it). Please see pictures below because Im sure it will make more sense. Anyways, for this specific one I cannot get the texture mapping right for the wrap around portion of it: 1) for some reason it ['it' being the texture] is following the directionality of the surface instead of remaining vertical [or purely 1 dirtection for that matter] and 2) the scaling of the texture is off as well.
Now of course I attempted to add a map channel thing and ive tried editing box, cylinder, uvw rotation, rotation, uvw repeat all of that but it remains unchanged. Of course I can adjust the scale provided I use the vray material editor U V repeat, but the funny thing is I cannot affect it at all via the texture mapping from properties drop down, though I have done so in the past to other walls and their corresponding textures. If anyone can help..I would be grateful! Once again, many thanks!
the problem**:
another piece of which the texture is fine:
**NOTE: i have not applied structure nor the transperency map to this yet as I have done to my others. this is not a problem, just for rendering time purposes at the moment.
