I am trying to illuminate a rectangular box from the inside. I am using a Vray 2-sided material attempting make the box look like it was made of fabric. When I use a 2 sided material, it seems I need to make the material transparent in order to make the light shine through. When I use transparency, it seems even the slightest amount becomes too much and I end up seeing almost entirely through the object.
I just want to illuminate the box with the appearance of it being fabric.
Is it normal to adjust the transparency to get light to shine through a 2 sided material? I have the blend set to 50 but without transparency, light will not illuminate the box.
Secondly, I need 8 of these boxes illuminated from the interior. It seems rectangular lights are the right solution for getting a nice, interior glow, at the expense of render times. Any other way to achieve this same effect?
The goal is to have an fabric box illuminated top to bottom, from the inside with the light intensity diminishing as the light get's closer to the top.
I stopped my render because it was taking forever but this should give you an idea of what I am trying to do.
