  • 3Form chroma material?

How would you guys render this counter material? I have a glass material with glossiness turned down. I've tried playing with the fog color, which seems to work if I have a real color, but I would like the counter to render translucent white. Any suggestions?

I would just have a white diffuse material with transparency turned down a little bit. Then add a reflection layer and play with the reflection until I get good results.

I don't have a perfect suggestion for the 3Form materials yet.. but I am working to create images similar to the one you posted. (dark interior all artificial light).
Is the image you posed a vray render or a photograph.. the size is too small to really decipher..
If vray I would be interested to hear some tips and tricks! ;D

        Re: 3Form chroma material?

To create this effect on vray, I usually create two different objects.
One is the outside/overall object using a glass material with blur to give a frosted look, like the chroma finish.
And I create a smaller object inside to represent the light source, this one is an emissive material, you can play with the intensity to creat more or less glow. The frosted material will break the light source and create something similar than the picture.
Add blur to a glass material will slow down your rendering time, so sometime I add the blur effect under photoshop.
Let me know if it helps
here is an similar example of a vray renderings.
