  • Bump Mapping Question

Hey guys its my first post, yay! Lol! Anyways I'm pretty new to V-Ray and so far I'm lovin' it! However I can't seem to be able to apply the bump correctly. When I hit the preview button it looks great however, when I go to render, nothing. I've done multiple searches and the most common suggestion I find is to increase the multiplier, did that but nothing. Can anyone help please, I'm desperate. Thanks!!!

      Re: Bump Mapping Question

I think I had that same problem once. I think it has to do with the texture and de mapping of it around the object. My guess is that you don't have a texture placed on the object only a bumpmap chosen in the material editor.

Try (just as test) to also use that bumpmap as texture in sketchup and render it again. If that works it won't render a bumpmap because v-ray doesn't see any mapping coordinates.

Don't know what I did in the past to get it right. Must be some little work around trick.

        Re: Bump Mapping Question

Bump at the Rhino scene based on the document units (for example: if you set intensity 1 it means max 1 mm bump (if units are mm). The mat preview is not dependent from the Rhino units, so it can be smaller or bigger.
