V-Ray for Sketch-Up is out. New Rhino version soon?

I read a while ago that the V-Ray for SU was first on the agenda. Once complete, all the new programming goodies would then be applied to the next version of V-Ray for Rhino. Well, V-Ray for Sketch-Up is released as of Feb 10, 2010.

Any news / projections / rumors / vivid dreams / wild-ass guesses when its coming out?

lol, well we start planning as soon as V-Ray for SketchUp is out... and it's out tomorrow, so hold on. We'll be blasting out announcements as soon as we can. Then there'll be a testing or beta period, and then it will be released.

Thanks for the update

I know its a pain to answer this same dumb question over and over, but I had to ask. Primarily, its because we were told that all development on V-Ray for Rhino had stopped for about a full year to get the Sketch-Up version out the door. That's cool that the code will be better/faster/stronger but its a little concerning that the team was focused elsewhere for so long.

Thanks in advance for any and all updates you can make. I'm only asking because I care.

well we've been rewriting our v-ray plugin that we port around from application to application. We've only spent a couple months on SketchUp specifically.

Since VfR was the first released plugin from ASGvis it's quite hard to see it in the second place now. I hope will see full power of development on VfR again in the future. Support and bug fixes are very important for daily user like me.

What happened to the launch today? Did someone forget to fuel the rocket you have on the homepage? Any idea when it will be released now?
I already had this dissapointment once this week already... Splinter Cell Convictions was meant to be out next week and now its been put back till end of April. FML!!

No, I did said that the lunch was delayed because the snow, but someone like me have 3 feet of snow. :-[
In my case, I have been unable to leave my house since Saturday, ouch! ;D

well we got about 20" on Friday officially (it's up to my waist though so weathermen are liars), and looks like this storm is dumping just about as much as the last one. Fernando's road was completely shut down until yesterday when he and his dad shoveled it... and now it's all buried again today. -cries- Nobody's in the office, and nobody was in the office on Friday or Monday either I believe (I know I wasn't there, I've been working from home since Friday). Just doesn't seem like a good idea to launch the product with nobody in the office to handle sales or support questions.

Cant wait for it, working on a new project now and dying to test it out. Get the rock salt out of your garages and start shovelling! ;D
