  • Disco ball and light problem

    Hi
    I can not make the disco ball trace the light reflections on the wall. Please help. The material on the ball is metal.

    is your caustics on? do you have a light source hitting the side facing the wall? without it no play of light, also use a mirror finish instead of metal. Hdris would help too

      Yes I have turned on caustics but it did not help

          OMFG, sorry guys, the problem is solved >. It was all my own fault - I totally forgot that the source of the light should be from the side of the wall! So right now it works .

                  Could be great, if in the future shadows could be turned off for defined objects. Than the caustic effect could be faked by a sphere with transparency mapping and a point light inside - transparency sphere inside the disco ball (shadows off). Could save render time.

                    cool it'd be great to have some spectral colours in the reflection but got knows how you'd get around doing that
