  • Newbie to V-ray HELP!

    hi,

i am new to using v-ray, this week i am going through the tutorial and hit a wall when i got to the refraction section...

i followed precisely all the settings mentioned in the tutorial document, however on the image i rendered has a strange grainy refraction as compared to the rendered image shown in the document. (see image - the glass cup at the back).

The thing is...it works when i use the provided file to render it, but not when i make all the adjustment myself manually. Please shed some light T_____T

i have also tried saving the Vray options and loading it after opening the other file, and i have also tried exporting and importing the material and reapplying it on the other file...nothing works...Rhino's settings are precisely identical on the two 3dm.

      hmmmm.

Have a look in Rhino, I'm not sure whats going on, but 1 of 2 things springs to mind for me here:

      - You have a duplicate of the glass cup overlapping it?

      - Or the cup is not a closed polysurface?

        Re: Newbie to V-ray HELP!

        u r a genius (to me)!!!

just looked a bit closely, the guy did created a separate polysurface within the outer shell on one of the files...both files were in the tutorial folder and look practically the same -_-'''

        THANKS MAN!!! "problem" solved!!!

          No problem!

I've done that to myself in the past by 'pasting' twice by mistake! :
