Re: help with transparency mapping please!
If the battery color is white, change the color of the first layer to the color of the letter (Black) and change the color of the second layer to the color of the battery (white). No matter that you have a mapping on the transparency slot, change that color to white.

Re: help with transparency mapping please!
ive tried every invert color swtich possible. no matter what i do i either get what is shown in the screenshot or a black battery with a white square and black letters.
perhaps there is another layer to be added? or another technique all together for achieving this?
I thought about making the original file a huge black square with that text in the middle so it wrapped black around the entire battery but there has to be a better way.

Re: help with transparency mapping please!
Hi!
Had a little test on how to get that working and the solution was quite obvious. Just change the transparency color white for the diffuse layer that contains the decal (as Fernando said above). When you have tiling disabled, the transparency color controls the transparency outside the decal.
And here's the same in visual format (they say it says more than a thousand words ;D)

All I did was putting Fernando's instructions in picture form. I've noticed that it's often the best way to convey information to others.
Always happy to help
