do you have the Vray sky in the background? if so, make sure it's connected to the sun and not the "default" light.

And how do you check if they are linked?

Check the 'sunlight source' slot in the texture editor. If it says 'Default' then change it to whatever your sunlight's name is (I have 'Light 01'). Just remember to change it in both GI and Background.

        Hope that helps

right - anytime you use the V-ray sky (e.g. background or skylight), if you leave the sun-light source set to "default", it will turn the rhino default light into a sun that is shining even if you have default lights turned off in the global switches. so your scene will be twice as bright and you'll have mysterious extra shadows that follow the camera.

does anyone out there ever use the rhino default light for the v-ray sky? maybe in the future this could be an opt-in feature instead of an opt-out?
