  • black splotches on surfaces....

I realize that this scene is dark. I also know that all the light comes from emmisive materials. I hope that isnt the problem.
I tried to increase my min rate in adaptive subdivision to 1. should i use DMC?

    please help!

The image is so dark it's hard to tell what you are asking about...since you mention the possibility of switching to Adaptive DMC I suppose you mean the "speckled" reflections in the pipe rails. Start by increasing the subdivs in the reflection glossiness of the material. I doubt you'd need to switch to adaptive dmc to solve this, but it does produce nicer blur effects. In any event, don't increase your min rate so high - if you're setting it to 0 or higher then you might as well switch to adaptive dmc.

If that's not what you mean, maybe you could post an image with the area circled?

      sorry for the bad pic.

I made this picture a little brighter in photoshop, so you can really see the problem.

No wouldn't be by first choice, DMC is to slow or noisy. Try more IM subdivs, for example 100 + 30 interpolation samples. If this dosn't help try 150 + 40 or higher.
