is it Possible to stop reflection?

Hey guys just a question is is possible to be able to stop a material creating a reflection?

Its a silver model, so its highly reflective and a malachite base of which the silver is picking up the the reflection of the malachite like a mirror.

How am i able to stop this?

VFR won't let you exclude specific objects from reflections, so you have to just reduce the amount of reflection in the silver material.

OK thank you very much for your reply, thinking bit of photo shop will do the trick as well, i rendered the base separate to the silver and will photo shop them together

You could try reducing the glossiness of the reflection?

would be rather good though if there was an option to exclude objects, think you used to be able to do it in light wave.

There is an option on the material called "Exclude all object from the reflection" it is on the option section on the material editor. This option should do the job.

So I take it I select that option for the malachite base, and it shouldn't show in the silver?

You should enable that option for the silver material. All the object will be exclude from the reflection. The only issue is that you can't exclude individual object.

Yeah that stops the reflection of the malachite, but now looks nothing like silver just a dull grey colour now. Thanks for your help FPEDROGO im just going to have to photo shop my heart out.
