What would be more effective for rendering a scene?
[hypothetical - all other factors excluded]
A. 4GHz 2-Core Processor
or
B. 2GHz 4-Core Processor
My personal guess is that they are equivalent in rendering speed, as the 2-Core will have less regions but will render each region faster, and the 4-Core will have more regions but will render each region slower.
Follow up question - does this scale in a linear fashion? e.g. 4GHz 4-Core Processor = 2GHZ 8-Core Processor?
These questions are for rendering only. As I understand it, rendering with vray for rhino depends solely on the CPU. Please correct any of my misunderstandings if they exist.
