  • Rendering light gray and white objects

    Hey everyone

Is there a way to render the colour white more clear in vray? It seems to me, that render engines as maxwell are much better at this than vray(due to unbiased rendering maybe...i dont know?). I have been searching around for different solutions: GI to white instead of sky, setting GI saturation to 0.0, Camera white balance to yellowish etc.. nothing seems to help (significantly anyway).

In my scenes, I have a light gray material (182x3 or so) which i generally use for surrounding objects (architectural renders). In these scenes (interior as well as exterior) i am trying to render specific objects of interest in pure white. My problem is, that these objects never render out as purely white, but more like a gray so that they, in terms of colour, are almost indistinguishable from the surroundings.

I have seen that VRf3DMax has the vray override material (seems like the sollution that im searching for, so i guess i have to wait for version 2 for Rhino) but i cant believe that Im the only one trying to do something like this.

Hope that any of you has a tip, thanks for the help in advance

The overrride material also exista in the current commercial license 1.05.29, it's in the options window in the global switches section, try to use a white around 120,120,120 or 140,140,140 RGB. You can also try to render with a brighter Background rather than the usual black, or increasibg the GI multiplier a little bit.
Posting an image will be better in this cases.
