  • How to exclude objects from render?

I have an interior scene and I'd like to render interior elements with alpha channels to comp into photoshop. So basically I want to render the interior elements as if they are in the room, but not have the walls and ceiling show up in the render. Is this at all possible in vray 1.5/rhino5? I used to use this feature a lot in vray for max.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Hi Andrew, it should be possible by setting the alpha value to 0 in the material settings used by the objects you want to exclude, save in PNG or TIFF.

      Hello ANDREW_CHAN

Yes it is possible - you have to activate "Only in secondary" option in the Walls material from the "Options" rollout in Vray Material Editor.
Your walls won't show up for the Camera Rays - but it will be visible for Secondary Rays as Reflection for example.

Let us know if this helps you to render your scene as you like.
