  • bug tracking tool in vray 1.5 working

    Hello Chaos Group team,

I just tried to submit a bug with the new "visReportBug" command... after sending it I did not get any message to confirm that the report was in fact submitted.

    So my question is:

    1. Is the tool working?
2: In case the answer to my first question is yes, could you maybe add some feedback that the program submitted the report?

    best regards

In the next update, there is a confirmation message that will pop up with a case number that can be referenced. There's also a progress bar that lets you know it's still working on submitting the report. There was an issue with the bug reporting tool not working well with unicode characters, which as been fixed as well. Now the only issue, is that it disappears behind the Rhino window while it's working on submitting the report, which is a little annoying, but it shouldn't affect the functionality.

Hmm, no, it seems it didn't work. Most likely due to unicode related errors. I thought I saw a case from you that was more recent, but apparently that report was from February. I'm sorry it failed you .

No Problem, I will send it via EMail, but I think it would be nice when this bug report tool could be fixed ASAP, because I am confident that it will make bugreporting far far easier and more comfortable -> I have some time on my hands now and would like to hunt down some bugs which are really keeping me away from using 1.5 at all!

          best regards

            One more question:

... since "support@asgvis.com" is probably not the correct address anymore, should we just send the Bug reports to "support@chaosgroup.com"?

If you need help, you should contact support@chaosgroup.com. If you want to let us know that you encountered a bug, send it to vfrwip@chaosgroup.com. We don't treat the inboxes the same way, you typically won't get a response after you submit a bug report, unless we require additional information about the bug, whereas you should get a response within a day or so from the support address.
