  • VFB Channels: Wirecolor/ Material ID

    Hi there,

Now that I got my account to work, it seems that I have quite a few questions, so hope that's fine. So here is another one:

In the vfb channels there are a couple of channels of which I don't know how to use them. in two of them I would be very interested: Wirecolor and Material ID. How can I get them to work? Or how do I set them up?

    Hope you can help me.
    Best

    Hi Toni
Unfortunately Wirecolor is not working at the moment. For material ID you have to assign the material desired color through the material editor. There is an option called "ID color" under the 'Option" are on the material editor. You should use that option to assign the material ID color per materials. The default ID color is black, so if you don't change that color, the material ID channel will be black. The material ID channel is very useful as a selection channel in post processing software.

Would be great if things that don't work would be hidden in current builds and shown only in builds when they are enabled. This causes a lot of wasted time with people trying to figure out why something is not working. (I hope someone from Chaos Group is reading this!)
