  • VRay 1.5 64 bit for Rhino 5 64 bit

    Hello All,

I currently have several licenses for VRay 1.5 for Rhino 4 and am considering upgrading to Rhino 5, what would be the best way to update VRay to the Rhino 5 64 bit version? Could I simply download the latest version of VRay for Rhino 5 and use my current dongle or would have to something beyond that? If so, what steps would I need to take?

    Thank you,

    mjr

Uninstall the version you have for Rhino 4 completely. Download the 64-bit version of V-Ray 1.5 and install that with the 64-bit version of Rhino 5. That should work.
Of course, I'm assuming you're running Windows 7 or newer with full 64-bit support...

You should not have any issue. The V--Ray license is in the dongle and it is not attached to the Rhino version. The license is attached of the V-Ray version. So If you have bought the commercial version of V-Ray 1.5 (for example), it will work with the 64bit version and with the 32bit version, with Rhino 4 and Rhino 5. You have to be sure to download the correct installer (V-Ray version), because we have different installer for Rhino 4, Rhino 5 32bit, Rhino 5 64 bit and also for commercial, educational, etc.

Is it possible to install and use the Rhino 4 version of v-ray and the Rhino 5 32 bit version?
          Or
Would it be possible to run the installer for Rhino 5 32bit and 64bit?
