  • Why grey thin layer all over the colours?

    Hi there!

Very basic question: why is there a grey thin layer all over the colours etc. when rendering with Vray?
I'm not so familiar with the program (yet) so obviously the solution is something very basic
(Using the program after two months pause).

I have a white (closed) studio with white colour everywhere, but the lights should still be okay. And the reflections as well.

    Thank's for the answer!

I avoid to render in white closed studio..
real photo studios are black or gray and in combination with softbox (or rectangular light in vray) you get nice contrast. Lack of contrast means kind of overlay you talk about

If you take photo of highly reflective objects only (chrome, silver,) you than use a white closed studio or tent, but still behind the fabric you have light sources, so the white environment around your object is not shining equal - otherwise you don't get contrast but overlay

    hope this helps

Something like that I was thinking.
Nice to hear it's that similar in Vray.

      Thank's, Kostenurka!

By the way, is it literally the same as in real life when working in studio?
(With the colours, backround, lights, reflections, etc.).

Just clicked reply and my post went nowhere...

check if you want here: http://www.hdri-studio.com/

basically these are full 360 HDRI taken with spheron camera in the center of empty photography studio. You can load (after buy) any of them as texture to your spherical light in vray and see how it lights up your model.

literally I like to believe it is almost there
          cheers

            Now that's interesting!

Have to buy something and see how it works.
Rhino isn't among the compatible softwares, BUT Vray is. Obviously it works - because You recommend it.
(I wonder where the alphabets HDRI comes from? )

            Thank's again, Kostenurka.
