  • How to use the disabled "use irradiance map" material option?

The big question is, how can be controlled the subdivs of the brute force, if IM is disabled?

One way could be to set the global GI primary engine to brute force, set the subdivs and switch back to IM. Internal could be used the subdivs from the invisible brute force settings. Or is it working so now?

If you are using IM from file and the "use irradiance map" material option is enabled, the BF subdivisions are controlled by the subdivisions of the IM.

So it will work only if I use a saved IM cache? That sounds complicated and not usable for a daily usage.

Please excuse me for the misunderstanding. It will work without using the IM From file as well.

Yes, Micha. Still a bug, we haven't fixed it.

Ok, could you note to the bug report that an easy subdiv control is needed? I'm not a friend of cross dependent subdiv options to the IM subdivs, a clear connection to the GI brute force would be more useful (like I wrote at the first post). Or best a subdiv option at the material only for this usage.
