  • Projection Maps aren't saving for me

    Hello Everyone,
Have any of you had this problem? I am working on an office and home computer. My office computer has Rhino 5 and Vray. My home computer has Rhino 5 on it, but not Vray. I have been noticing a quite annoying problem when I will be working on models at home to render at work. I will make the models and add the projection maps at my home computer, but when I get to the office, everything will be fine BUT the projection maps wont be there. It is as if I never did them. Has this happened to any of you? I cant figure out why it would do this either? It seems that it shouldnt be because of not having Vray on my home computer because the Rhino renderer uses the same projection maps.

Let me know if any of you know what is going on. I'll greatly appreciate it.

Can't say that I've had that particular issue, but I do get some odd behaviour when copy/pasting geometry between two separate Rhino sessions/models on the same computer.

I find that if I apply some mapping to a group of objects as a whole (box mapping) and then copy/paste them into a new Rhino session the centre of the mapping moves to the centre of each separate object. Obviously not the same problem as you but it could point towards something iffy with transferring mapping co-ordinates?

I suppose it's the old behavior that the mapping depends from the render engine - if the render engine is switched the mapping isn't shown anymore. If I remember me right there was a hidden command to synchronize the mapping (Rhino4) and get it visible again. Best ask at the Rhino forum, I suppose so Andy know it.

This is the plugin created by Andy to restore the mapping from other render engines, it's for v4 but it should work. TextureMappingPreserver.zip
        The new command is _TextureMappingRecover.
