  • Use an HDRI for a studio render??

    Hello Everyone,

I just had a quick question. Is it a smart idea to use an HDRI for simple product renderings (non-metal)? I have a 3 point lighting setup and a plain white (slightly gray) back drop. I am currently experimenting with free HDRI's from viz people and HDRI Hub. they are alright but I get either a warm or cool wash on everything. Should I stick to a regular white GI? Or are there other options / HDRIs I should conciser?

    Thanks a lot!

You could desaturate (f.ex.Photoshop) your HDRI before use it and at the GI option there is a saturation option for adjusting the color bleeding.

You could also use the new color correction procedural mapping and then put the HDRI in the texture map and control the hue and saturation directly in the Texture editor.
