VfR 2.0 - EDU available??

What happens to old users with perpetual academic license?
We have to upgrade to the new policy?
Would the new policy give to us any "certification" advantages?

I've received confirmation from sales that in order to use 2.0, EDU users will need to purchase a new license per the link above.

I've got a perpetual VFR 1.5 student license. What can I do to use VFR 2?

I was told I would have to purchase an EDU license for 2.0 under the new EDU license policy, which is for one year only.
