  • Vray 2.0 RT window

    Hi Guys,

Whenever i start the new vray RT in the view port, it just stays black....nothing happens. Only seems to work in the dedicated RT window........any ideas.

Also, when i select RT GPU Open CL or the CUTA version......how do i know its working as its still maxing out my CPU power?

    Many thanks

    Justin

    Hi Justin
This is odd. I don't have that behavior. We are going to need more info about this. Can you send an email to vfrwip@chaosgroup.com.
Please include the scene file, information about your video card and OS.

I forgot to mention that if for some reason the RT GPU fail, V-Ray will run the RT on CPU. I guess that is your case.

So how do you know if your machine is capable of running the GPU RT..........its a brand new Precision Dell laptop all specked out.

          Hi
First, you have to go to the task manager and kill the "XMLDRSpawner.exe" that it is running as a services every time that we start Rhino. Then you can manually enable the DR Spawner windows. To enable the DR Spawner window you can go to start all program, then go to the chaos group folder. Then Go to the V-Ray for Rhino folder and inside the Distribution render, you can lunch the Dr Spawner windows. If you start RT now, you will be able to see the GPU working.

            Hi Fernando,

Tried your method, but the spawner still crashes when you hit RT render on GPU open CL, must be an AMD/ATI issue

Mine goes black when trying to use the viewport RT too. Also if I use the Cuda for rendering instead of the CPU it renders different. For example If I render a gem stone it shows nice refelctions in the RT with CPU enabled, but once I change it to the cuda it renders dark with less or no reflections.
