  • Is there a better way to do this??

    Hello Everyone!
Recently I have been going away from having a bowl or backdrop studio because I am liking the way that the textures look when they arent grayed out by the background. This has been working great because my textures are reflecting the objects rather than the background, and I like the look better. It also makes the renderings so much faster. I just a small rectangle to get the ground shadows and then add a while BG in photoshop.

The problem is, whenever I have flowers, or a transparent vase, the background is black, and it is hard to photoshop the white background and make it look right. Is there a better way to do this? In the picture below, I added a white rectangle behind the glass vase, but it shows on the top of the table. Is there a way to make it so that the white rectangles arent reflected on anything? Or is there another trick I should know?

Thanks a lot guys! Feel free to ask questions, I respond fast!

First I would try a white background at the env options. If you don't like to see it at the reflection, set the reflection env black. Also you can set environments at material level, for example for the glass.

      Thanks Micha,
It worked Perfectly. Also, I figured out how to properly use the alpha layer in Photoshop to delete the black void. I wasn't aware that it would work so well with transparent materials.
