  • Is there a way to turn of the "material exists in the scene" dialog?

    Hi all,
Is there a way to turn of the "A material by the name ... already exists in the scene" dialog? Maybe in the registry?
In all the years I work with VfR I have never ever clicked on anything else than "Use existing material" and "Apply all". I wish this dialog wouldn't delay loading of files.

This is especially annoying if youwork a lot with worksessions because if you attach a file all its materials are copied to the active file... something I don't like as well.

    thx, Tobias

    Tobias,

In the latest service release there is a command "visImportMaterialPrompt", if you select no, it will disable the prompt from then on.

Hi Matt, just one question, if you turn off the dialog what options will be applied then? Will all existing materials overwritten with imported ones or vice versa?
