  • Sun Light unable to turn off

Using VRay 2 and Rhino 5. Just getting started with this. I have gone into my lights palette and turned off all of my lights including the sun. I still have a sun though that I can see in wireframe mode and can turn it. In the rhino sun palette the sun is off.

I wen through the VRay options and did not see a sun being on. Is VRay's sun separate from Rhino's sun? If yes then where is it controlled.

    thanks.

Weird, I can have more than one sun in my scenes. Can live with it.

Getting better with the lighting. Question, is there a way to make a VRay Sun the Sun that appears in the Lights Palette?

As far as I can tell, a Vray Sun never appears in the light palette. I have to select it from a view and then adjust it from its object properties.

This has confused me too. The Sun listed in Rhinov5 LIGHTS tab seems to have nothing to do with the Vray sun, and can co-exist with the Vray sun.
The other lights listed on the LIGHTS tab do however represent lights which have been added, but I get strange behaviour between the ENABLE option of the rectangular light and clicking the little eye icon on the LIGHTS tab. Even with the ENABLE option off it seems asif the EYE being on or off on the Rhino LIGHTS tab seems to dominate and the light still renders even with the ENABLE option off.??
Adjusting the visible option in the light tab also seemed to freeze the settings of the lights properties tab, and in the end I had to duplicate the light and delete the old one to make adjustments to it again.
It seems a good idea to stay away from the Rhino Lights Tab.
