Preview sphere reaaall slow

When I click Preview to see a material change, it will take a good 8 seconds for the preview sphere to change. Sometimes longer. Any ideas what the hold up is? I have the latest windows and a decent machine.

We fixed an issue related with the preview speed, but the fix it is only on nighty builds.
