  • Displacement issues on Round corners

    Hello !

I'm trying myself in Vray by making a scene based on the work of Bertand Benoit.
The scene i try to make is that one : http://bertrand-benoit.com/blog/2014...glazed-bricks/

I have some issues with my round corners, displacement is not working well.
Render time is also very very very... very slow, more than usual with displacement.
Please see the files, you will see some dark edges.

Here is the result with the bump map only. He is nice but i would like to see the geometry displacement.
And also the result of the material + displacement on a ball, which looks nice, no dark boxes/edges...

If someone knows what is wrong, i've tryed many things on the surfaces, material, lights...
I don't know what to do now ^^'

Thanks you for reading me, and sorry for some english mistakes

I would check the render mesh, maybe there are some bad distorsions or kinks. For example you could set a finer max edge lenght for this object only under the object properties.

      Hello Micha,

You're my man, thanks for your message, you help me solve the problem.
6 years i used Rhino and i still not good with the meshing (i was using "max lenght between edges and sufaces" mesh properties)... not good for me...
Here the result, quite better !

Most it's good for displacement to look at the mesh density. I try to use a finer mesh and a lower displacement subdiv to keep the RAM under control. I'm glad that it works.
