  • Why are my diamonds green?

Hey guys, hope someone can help me with this.

I've applied a diamond material to a gem cut, and as soon as I turn dispersion on they show up green.
This is noticeably worse at lower quality settings, but still has a hint at high quality.
    I'm using GI.

My goal is to get freakin' amazing renders but I'm struggling with the whole green thing.

I'm in the latest Rhino with Vray 3.0 beta (had the same issue with 2.0). Really appreciate any help.

Strangely enough, doesn't happen in MODO (see below).

    Any help?

Can you share the diamond material? I'm pretty sure it was one setting in the material that produce that issue, but I don't remember it in top of my head. Please Share the material with me.

        Diamond_Dispersion.zip

Here it is. It's pulled straight from the Express Materials, but I'm having the same issue if I create the material from scratch, or modify glass (which makes me think it's not the material). It only happens when I enable dispersion.

        Thanks for your help,

        Aaron

One of the issue is the Sub-pixel mapping option inside the color mapping. Please, disable it.

Thanks Fernando - that's done the trick!

                Now back to rendering diamonds...
