  • Bought commercial but License Server still showing Beta

I bought v-ray 3 and got the adv build in my account today

after installling it my license server still shows v-ray rhino and render node as beta

I have already tried decativating and reactivating the license server

I also stopped the v-ray service and re-started it

However Rhino says cannot get a GUI license

Does support have to do something manually or is there anything I can do on my own?

It seem to be a licensing issue. Please, email support@chaosgroup.com.

@iamlifo: Are you using a dongle? And if so - did you update it using the new .rtu file?

In my case the online license server also shows, that I'm using a license for the beta. V-Ray however works flawlessly.

I have a dongle for 2.0, but I asked the reseller to switch me to online licensing

I did not receive an .rtu file

I'm sure support will fix it tommorow

I also have a dongle for V-Ray 2.0. In order to upgrade, I had to send the reseller the current .rtu file and later became from him a new one, which I downloaded and installed. After that V-Ray 3 launched.

i don't wish to use the dongle for vray anymore, that's why i didn't send any dongle files. you are still using dongle licensing. if you remove the dongle from your pc it wont work.

I am trying to switch to the purely online licensing which does not require a dongle anymore.

so this is getting fixed right now by support. apparently online licensing is only for new customers, upgraders have to use the dongle. but they're letting me go online anyway

Lucky you. Nice of them to fix it despite of you being an upgrader. The folks in the V-Ray support are doing a very good job.
So, iamlifo, enjoy your new donglefree render software!

Odd...we only gave our reseller the Dongle ID. I didn't install any .rtu file this time like I had to with 2.0 licenses.
