  • Reduce the color cast thrown by object

    Hi,

I have a big sport hall with red floor. My problem is that this red projects all over the scene and particularly on the ceiling which is suppose to be white. Is there a way to reduce the GI (maybe) generated by the floor and eliminate the color cast? For now I only think of combining 2 renders as solution.

    thank you!

Put the red floor into a wrapper material, and then set the generate GI to zero. That should produce the results you want.

Interesting approach. Will the GI from the floor like from a black object with zero indirect reflected light?

Yeah that's an amazing technique but the white balance of the image is out of any photographic rules. In fact all colors from the scene has their own white balance and it is impossible to tweak the scene globally in photoshop or lightroom afterwards. Anyway it's great to have that tool. Thanks again for the support

An other tool could help you here too. Fer told about it at the beta forum -> override material. Here the full story how it works:

So you could create an own GI indirect light material that reflect the right amount you like. I would try a desaturated version of your ground material.

Oh I've missed that one.. seems powerful and right solution for my case. I agree a desaturated version of my ground should be used in the GI slot because still the biggest and most colorful surface should mainly participate in the white balance of the render.
              Thanks Micha, Fernando
              cheers!
