  • Swarm node showing up in UI but not in render bucket

I have two windows 10 machines (one workstation and one macbook pro running bootcamp)
I have Swarm and vray installed on both. I can successfully open the Swarm UI on both machines with both machines being listed as ENABLED.
I can successfully ping one machine from the other.

But when I try and render wtih Swarm on, Current usage stays at 0% (even though goal is set to 100%), and the buckets don't seem to show the slave machine, only the host processors.

Network discovery is set to Auto-Discovery.

When I upgraded to vray 3, I only got the base package with no extra render nodes (I thought 1 was included in the price). Do I need to purchase the extra nodes to even use 1 machine as a slave?

If not, is there anything I else can try to get them to work?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hello, Andrew,
Rendering on the local machine uses 1 render node license.
When running distributed rendering on multiple machines through V-Ray Swarm, it is not possible to exclude the local machine completely but only cap its CPU usage. Each render node machine you add to the process requires 1 additional render node.
Unlike the V-Ray 2.0 for SketchUp render node licenses, the new v3 licenses work for all V-Ray products, and not just V-Ray for SketchUp.
My colleagues from the Sales team can assist you properly and provide info about pricing or promotions, such as upgrading your old render node licenses. To contact them, simply send an email at sales@chaosgroup.com

    Kind regards,
