  • No Alpha Channel

Hey is there a way to produce a rendering or animation in Rhino and not produce and alpha channel of the background. I want to capture the graduated gray that I see on the screen as the background. Thanks.

    Hi,

Please be informed that when you save a .png file, the background is also stored as part of the data but most image-viewing applications do not display it. As a temporary workaround, it is advisable to save the render output in an file-format without alpha (e.g. jpeg). You can also load any already rendered images in the V-Ray Frame Buffer window and alternatively save it in a different file-format.

      Hi SHoutzager,

We'll add some options to control the output image alpha in the upcoming 3.6 version.
You will be able to save .png files that have the background visible when loaded in Photoshop for example with an option to save out a separate file with the alpha.

      Regards,
      Konstantin
