  • Sharing materials between platforms

Since the V-Ray core is now more or less aligned between platforms, it seems like we should be able to share material files easily.
I asked a Max-using friend to send me a couple of materials by the command available in Tool->V-Ray Vrmat converter. It did work only for a couple of irrelevant materials,
Is it the only way, or the best way, to share materials?

I know there are 2 formats available to save materials. One is universal. Must by vrmat.

Only V-Ray materials and Standard 3ds max materials can be converted.Could you please advise what kind of materials did not manage to get converted?
Which versions of V-Ray and 3ds max were used?
Please send a few of the materials which failed to convert at support@chaosgroup.com for inspection

      Kind regards,
