  • Rectanguar spotlight with shift

    Hi.
Seems you can use native 3ds max spotlight with rectangular cone. Would be great if this functionality was extended to spotlights in Rhino. When using as an image projector, it would be especially fantastic(!), if you could axis shift the light (like lens shift in camera), and also keystone it, as with a real projector.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

V-Ray for Rhino uses a different Spotlight plugin than the one in V-Ray for 3ds max. The ability to change the beam shape cannot be supported at this time.
There are a couple of workarounds that come to mind:
    1. Use a Rectangle light (with directionality) instead
    2. Create a Gradient texture, set its Type to Box and color right-side color nodes to black. You can them mix that map (using a Mix (Operator) texture) with a Bitmap and slot the result in the Spotlight.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

      Hi Peter.
I know of the other options - too bad the suggestion is not possible.
