  • VRay Grasshopper - more components

    On my wishlist: many more Material components for VRay GH so that one may create and edit materials in a visual scripting environment ala 3DS Max, Substance Designer, and Unreal. The final material could then be "baked" and found in the Asset Editor in case one does not wish to set up the entire render scene in GH.

    I already asked for this feature before! In my case, this would make vray in GH a lot more useful

      Hi guys,

      Your suggestion was considered internally many times.
      What we had in mind is letting you edit V-Ray materials and textures in the node graph environment of GH.

      If we do that though, it will make V-Ray in Grasshopper extremely complicated and intimidating.
      Our goal with the current implementation is to keep things as simple as possible, using presets and stripped down components.
      You don't have to understand V-Ray to use the existing components and this has been working great for many of our clients.

      If at one point, we push forward with shader editing in GH, it'll come as a separate module.
