Wish: enhance slider scale

It could be nice if the user type in a value, that this value cause a slider rescale where the current value is in the middle of the silder. For example I have a light in nondecay mode and I need to adjust around 0.3. I typed in the value, but the slider keeps an unusable previous range. Maybe the whole scale range could something other too, for example 5 times the current set value.

Couldn't a rescale by the user set value be useful?
