  • Adding all render elements to grasshopper rendering

    Hi,

Is there a plan, in vray grasshopper components, to allow for all the render elements available in normal rendering? Material ID, Z depth etc.? It looks like currently only the Denoiser is available.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello, Sam,
There is currently no plan to make all render elements directly available in V-Ray for Grasshopper. Currently only Lighting Analysis and Denoiser can be set.
For all others, you would need to use the V-Ray Render in Project component and set the elements via the Asset Editor before initializing the render process from Rhino.

Could you please describe which channels you'd like to have at your disposal in GH and what you wish to achieve using them?

    Kind regards,
    Peter

      Hi Peter,

I can use the render in project component work around to get non-lighting based render channels (Material ID, Z Depth etc.). However the render in project component doesn't appear to pick up the attached lighting rig, so channels like GI, Raw Reflections, Refraction etc. aren't based on the GH lighting.

I need a number of these for post production. I'm exited to shift the majority of my workflow through GH but I can't really do this until these are working.

      Thanks for your help,

      Sam
