  • interactive light cache - why always on?

In V-Ray 7 Interactive Light Cache is permanently on. Is there a way to turn it off? I'm also ok with doing it with a script but I can't find the parameter for it in the vrscene.
In big exterior scenes it makes interactive rendering really sluggish.

    Hi robert_dobrowolski,
Simply set Global Illumination > Secondary Rays to Brute Force before initiating Interactive rendering.

Many thanks! It would be great to have this semi-automatic a bit like with the new denoiser settings though. TBH I almost always kept interactive LC off even for interior shots, in most cases I use interactive render for lighting and shot scouting and responsiveness is the priority

For most scenarios, Light Cache secondary GI is recommended. There are no plans to change the current behavior.
If you want to automatically switch the parameter value depending on what rendering mode is used or based on any other conditions, you can achieve this through script access (https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRHIN...+Script+Access)
