  • gamma correction for textures

Since we are now provided with gamma correction colormapping, we will need to have an option to tell the bitmap loader that it is offered gamma corrected images. Otherwise gamma correction is applied twice to the texture.

3dsmax has this option (both on global as on local level)

DO you need that kind of options for textures, if there's no mapping in Rhino ?

I think, for now, that VR f Rh mostly can be used as mmmm.... help mmmm... for layered render. Mesh render in Rhino, textures pass in max, then combustion/Photoshop and voila -=- great and smooth result.!.

Maybe developers should (after making material system (preview etc.) and incorporating all the stuff, Vray 1.47.xx can do) think of it ? For ex. make export to combustion or .psd ? I really would like to see this in future!
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

      gamma correction for textures

I think Rhino is working on texture mapping stuff since it is a big weakness right now. I think some exciting stuff is just around the corner from McNeel as far as materials and texture mapping and some other aspects are concerned.

Sorry to repeat the question, but will texture gamma correction be considered?
