I would be nice, if Vray could play a wav sound, if a rendering is ready. Example: Over the weekend I must render 10 views of a scene. Every image need approx. 40 min. Now, I must look from time to time, is the rendering finish or not. Better I could bake my bread rolls in the kitchen and hear, if the image is ready.
heh - I always hated noises from my machine to be honest, but I can see how that could be helpful. Any other key areas where a sound would be helpful? Or just when the rendering is done?
I would need a sound if the renderings is done, so I can start the next. A system sound from the mainboard could be good too, so would not need my music sytem to play the sound. But, helpful could be any solution.
In the past my note book fan was so noiseful during rendering that I know, that it was working. But my new machine create constant low noise "only".
I like the HDR output of Vray. Great. It's a shame, that Photoshop dosn't allow to manipulate the gamma curve in 32bit mode. The Vray framebuffer do it.
Often I save my renderings in HDR format and like to adjust it later. So my first wish: it could be good, if the frame buffer would allow to open HDR images.
Second wish: I would like to save all framebuffer options to one option file. Than I would like to set an option at VfR, that this file would be used for every rendering. Example: I render a scene and use the frame buffer adjustment. If I open the Rhino file after a few days or weeks, because the client need a new view, than it is difficult to get the same output.
Do somebody know a plugin for photoshop that allow curve manipulation for 32bit images? Or an other image software for less money. Photogenics could do it, but it is to expensiv - $699.
We've talked about different things with the frame buffer as far as restoring defaults. I agree that needs to be a way to restore different settings in the Framebuffer, and if we have a way to restore the default then we should be able to restore options from a file. I'll talk to Joe about it and see how we could go about implimenting it.
I suppose we would need all options/settings that a user can adjust in the VFB to be exposed to us in the VRaySDK - which I don't think is happening at the moment.
It could be good, if the user could mark a texture of a material as "visible in viewport". Maybe, a right mouse button menu at the texture letter "M" could integrated. If a texture is used for the viewport, the "M" could be colored, for example green.
This could help to place textures and to get a visible control of all texture types - bumps, reflection color/filter textures ... .
In Rhino3 we don't have much control over showing stuff in the viewport. Rhino3 can only show stuff that uses mapping channel 1 and whatever a Rhino basic material is capable of showing. So the ability to show things in the viewport is kinda limited.
I know, but I can save the curve only and not the level/exposure correction. Best, I could save all settings to one file.
But I find a workaround: the level adjustment can be done with curve too, after zoom of the graph the curve ends can be moved lower than 0 and higher than 1.
